One more big post before April is over! So after four years, my loyal tablet finally died. I seriously though it’d been longer than four years, but I dug through my old files and found the very first thing I drew with my tablet and it’s dated 2007. (Gorjuss, is it not?) I’m hoping to get an Intuos4 but jeebus they’re more than three times what I paid for my first tablet.

I’ve never seen the movie Roadhouse but that’s the name of the bar in Twin Peaks and every time they say it in the show it reminds me of MST3K. According to Wikipedia, there is a character in this movie named Gary Ketchum.

Two requests that I’ve owed for ages that I was working on when my tablet died.

Ten percent of the 100 character meme done. I don’t know how far I’ll get seeing as I don’t have 100 characters.

I made more tiling patterns. Eh.

Figure drawings from life. They’re all two to five minute poses, I think. Like a moron I didn’t date them, but they’re all from the past few months. Hopefully I’ll be able to look back at these in a few months and see that I’ve improved.
Headddssss what are headsssss.

I’ve been watching Twin Peaks recently. The credits pain me every time they come on. WHY ORANGE AND GREEN. WHY.

I’m about four episodes into the second season and I still don’t quite have a handle on what kind of show it is. It’s very much like a soap opera, but there are bits of what I think are supposed to be comic relief that make me think that it doesn’t take itself as seriously as most soap operas do. I say “I think” they are supposed to be comic relief because often these scenes are so out of left field, I’m not clear on what the director intended them to be. These scenes make me ask, “Is this supposed to be humorous? Serious? Mysterious? Is the audience intended to be confused?” It’s hard for me to explain without examples, but I don’t want to give too much away.

This is one of the scenes in question. It’s only mildly more confusing out of context than in. I was fully expecting the scene to be a dream sequence. It turned out it wasn’t. Then it was never mentioned again. I summon my best Troy Steele impersonation skills when I say, “What.”

Despite my confusion I am enjoying the show so far. It’s been a while since I’ve watched a show that could keep my attention for an hour and a half at a time.

I was not awake today. In fact, I think I’m still asleep.

You know your day’s not going to be great when the first thing you do when you get up is walk into the bathtub.

The Sailor Moon manga is being brought back to the US again. The series will be turning twenty soon, good lord.

I did not have a Sailor Moon tag until this picture.
