One more big post before April is over! So after four years, my loyal tablet finally died. I seriously though it’d been longer than four years, but I dug through my old files and found the very first thing I drew with my tablet and it’s dated 2007. (Gorjuss, is it not?) I’m hoping to get an Intuos4 but jeebus they’re more than three times what I paid for my first tablet.

I’ve never seen the movie Roadhouse but that’s the name of the bar in Twin Peaks and every time they say it in the show it reminds me of MST3K. According to Wikipedia, there is a character in this movie named Gary Ketchum.

Two requests that I’ve owed for ages that I was working on when my tablet died.

Ten percent of the 100 character meme done. I don’t know how far I’ll get seeing as I don’t have 100 characters.

I made more tiling patterns. Eh.

In a little over a month, I’ll have had this sketchblog for a year. It doesn’t feel like it’s been a year at all. :/

I was redrawing old characters because I couldn’t sleep. I was looking at a sketchbook from a year ago and it struck me just how much my drawing has improved since last year. (Last semester, even!) Look at this doodle compared to one from a year ago.

I don’t remember her name, but this was the main character from a magic girls parody I wanted to make about a magic girl who, upon discovering her powers, wants to take revenge on an ex-boyfriend instead of performing her civic duties.

Then this happened:

In other words, I did absolutely nothing, but it felt like I was doing something.

A while ago dragonfruits on LJ started a meme to redesign your old horrible OCs. I just did some doodles, but maybe later I’ll do something in color.

Doodles of the mentor character from the magic girl parody I mentioned in this post. I love drawing stupid shit like this.

Those ears are permanent. (They don’t go away when she’s at work.)

And as a bonus, here is what she looked like last time I drew her. I thought of digging out the very first drawing I did of her from 2003, but I’m kind of afraid to remember what that looked like.
